OWEN SOUND – Local Owen Sound Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu academy – Kilian Academy – hosted the third rotating Quad-Club Open Mat training session on Sunday the 1st of September 2019. Nineteen Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioners from Flesherton (Bowler’s BJJ), Port Elgin (Topp Performance), Collingwood (Barton’s Martial Arts) and Kilian Academy trained for the third time together.

Owen Sound Combat Academy

Abrie Kilian of Kilian Academy recently banded together with boxing coach Keith Miles and is in the process of establishing Owen Sound Combat Academy (OSCA). “During my youth, I was introduced to boxing, which contributed greatly to the individual I am today. I wanted to establish a facility that provides training to the whole family, especially youth. What we have to offer was once given to me. We wish to see people improve their lives through healthy living, discipline and hard work training martial arts. We wish to add value to our community to see our youth become wholesome adults.” said Miles.

OSCA’s Official Opening

Plans are underway to see OSCA’s official opening by the end of November, allowing Owen Sound residence to train throughout the winter.

Next Tri-Club Open Mat

Barton’s Martial Arts will host the next Quad-Club Open Mat training session on the 13th of October 2019 at 12:00. All martial artist enthusiasts are welcome to attend.
